Footloose was my first design in a professional theatre, Theatre Royal, Bury St. Edmunds. Working for Suffolk's Young People's Theatre, I had the freedom to really explore and try something different. With an amazing set, I really wanted to make that my focus point for the piece. With no masking, I wanted to keep an industrialised look to everything, also backed up by the cabling on the scaffolding tower. This was, in many ways, a start of my professional career.
